A new approach to Europe
Posted by Philip Dunne, MP for Ludlow, at 11:12, Thu 5 November 2009:
On Wednesday the Czech President signed the Lisbon Treaty which will now become part of EU law on 1st December. The British people have been denied the referendum prior to the Treaty’s ratification which the Labour Party (helped by the LibDems) could have given.
There is no point in a referendum after the Treaty has become law. What would be the question? What would be the consequence? Those calling for a referendum cannot give credible answers to these questions.
David Cameron has swiftly proposed sensible realistic measures for which Conservatives will seek a mandate at the next general election.
First we will legislate to make sure that no transfer of further power to the EU can take place in future without a referendum. Never again should it be possible for a British government to hand over power to the EU without the British people's consent.
Second, we will introduce a United Kingdom Sovereignty Bill to make it clear that ultimate authority stays in this country, in our Parliament.
These measures can be brought in unilaterally by an incoming Conservative government without the need to seek approval from our European partners.
And third, we want to negotiate three specific guarantees with our European partners over powers that we believe should reside with Britain, not the EU. We will negotiate the return of Britain's opt-out from social and employment legislation in those areas which have proved most damaging to our economy and public services. We also want a complete opt-out from the Charter of Fundamental Rights. And we would negotiate for a return of powers in criminal justice to prevent EU judges gaining steadily greater control over our criminal justice system.
We will seek these changes for Britain during the next Parliament during negotiations over budget reform and accession negotiations for the next country to join the EU.
David Cameron said yesterday that if he becomes Prime Minister, the British Government will be an active member of the European Union. Like every other Member State, we will fight our corner to advance our national interests. But our guiding principles will be that Britain's interests are best served by a European Union that is an association of its member states - and we must never allow Britain to slide into a federal Europe.

As the Lisbon treaty is SELF-AMENDING at the whim of the EU heirarchy, they will never again need to write any new treaties to have referenda about! In the meantime poor, almost bankrupt (well done Brown) Great Britain continues to pump over £40,000,000 CASH, PER DAY -365 into the superwasters who maintain wholly unnecessary duplicate 'parliaments' in Strasbourg AND Brussels. Who pour vast sums into ludicrous 'climate change' stupidity, milking us the British population, the inhabitants of what THEY call 'treasure island' plus dozens of other well-known utter stupidities, eg Galileo satellite system, designed for, and one day able to track, AND CHARGE YOU, every time you move, via road pricing. Our industries, particularly fishing, have been decimated, stocks ruined for years, but STILL fished by French and Spanish trawlers in OUR waters. Our water/power utilities are now largely owned by EU companies, while our regulators endlessly allow yet higher prices, blah blah etc. THE ONLY POSSIBILITY THAT GREAT BRITAIN WILL EVER BECOME TRULY GREAT AGAIN IS OUT OUT OUT. We will continue to trade as ever with Europe AND the rest of the world, regain control of our borders, and CHOOSE not to adopt EU (Foreign) legislation. Trying to reform the EU from 'within' with a few dozen seats is a lost cause, as Dave well knows. Me? I was a natural Conservative voter for almost 50 years, but NOT ANY MORE. ONLY UKIP promises 'OUT' and while there is little realistic possibility of their forming a majority government they will always BE THERE, working in Britain's best interest, which is NOT as a group of minor 'regions' of the EU.

The European Union will not accept the proposals by the Conservative Party and, they will seek through all means at their disposal to destroy conservative credibility and chance for election. The European Union was designed on Soviet Politburo lines and is in essence Socialist, they do not espouse the ideal of democracy. It was the traitor Edward Heath who took us into Europe by deceit knowing that the intention was a federal Europe all along. See the interview with Bukovsky in the Brussels Journal to understand the terrible danger we are in in the UK, all nationalists should stand together regardless of personal grievances because of the imminent danger to Britain. Margaret Thatcher was forced out of office because she did not want to hand over our Sovereignty to Brussels, she was stabbed in the back by the conservative traitors at the time. If labour get in at the next election they will destroy democracy in Britain and open the borders to total unlimited immigration which will be on a scale unimagined even by todays standards. Already Europe's answer to the KGB is being set up called Europol, every man, woman and child will have every piece of data on their personal lives stored on the Brussel's computer nicknamed 'the Beast' The Liberal Democrats will join with Labour in a coalition because they Are not big enough or bright enough to rule us, they are a mish mash of a party who will side with anyone for power. The Manifesto of the British national Party is the one piece of common sense that will get us out of this mess, no immigrant of good will and loyalty to this their host country need fear us now or ever, we are not extremist and not racist, in fact this Labour Government is extremist with most of it's ministers being ex members of the Communist party who would have welcomed the Russians with open arms and who have sought to destroy us as a country since 1998, who send our soldiers to die in an illegal war on two fronts. Please read this message carefully because the next election will seal Britain's fate one way or the other, God help us.
