Where do you think there should be more bobbies on the beat?

What do you think the priorities should be for our police? Deciding how things are run should not be the preserve of remote committees. I am therefore writing to encourage you to take part in a survey being run by the Metropolitan Police Authority about its priorities. You can have your say by visiting: http://bit.ly/2fdj0o.
When I sat on the Police Authority I strongly believed that, as well as intelligent policing to catch criminals, we needed to make sure we addressed people’s fears. Part of policing is about making people feel safe - so finding out what makes people feel unsafe is therefore vitally important.
Never one to miss an opportunity to stick up for our area, I shared one of my key priorities as being preventing and tackling burglary. With our borough having the highest rates in the country it is clear more needs to be done to prevent local residents becoming a victim. This is why I wrote to local residents recently making sure they knew what steps to take. If you would like a copy of my advice, please let me know.
So whether it's tackling knife crime, getting more police on buses, or bringing Safer Neighbour Teams closer to you (many of our local teams are situated out of the communities they serve!) – make sure you have your say.
Kind regards,
Lynne

PS – One of the key priorities for a Lib Dem run Haringey is going to be putting more police on the streets. If you would like to help out in the fight between Lib Dems and Labour to take the council, please let me know.
