As the Shadow Home Affairs Minister dealing with identity cards and the national identity register, adult prisons and juvenile/young offender custody, probation, parole, criminal justice, drugs and alcohol (in so far as they are Home Office as opposed to Health Department matters), pornography and prostitution, as well as being the MP for a large part of rural Harborough and for the Borough of Oadby & Wigston my life is both busy and enjoyable. I also take a close interest in international affairs and speak overseas at conferences discussing human rights, terrorism and foreign and defence issues.
The personal, national and local political and business issues I have to deal with as the constituency MP are as varied and diverse as the demography and population of the area and I look forward to making use of "HearFromMyMP" to further the dialogue I have with my constituents irrespective of whether they support or disagree with me or have no settled political views at all.
Edward Garnier QC MP (Harborough, Oadby & Wigston) Shadow Minister for Home Affairs
