1. I am holding a Shopping Centre Surgery on Saturday 18th March at Sainsburys Craigleith, 10 am - 12 noon. This is in addition to my regular surgeries at Stockbridge, Pilton, and in my office off Leith Walk. Details of these are given in my website. Do come along if you have any issues or queries for me.

2. As part of Fairtrade Fortnight, on Sunday 19th March, at 2 pm, I am organising a local consultation meeting on International Development issues. More details are available by visiting this link http://www.marklazarowicz.org.uk/events/internat_devt_info.htm

3. On Friday 31st March, I will be holding an Information Day & Coffee Morning in Stockbridge House. Information will be available about a wide range of issues - including pensions and pension credit, other tax credits, advice on energy savings, consumer advice. More details are on my website at http://www.marklazarowicz.org.uk

4. If you would like more information about what I've been doing, have a look at my new Parliamentary and Constituency report is now available on-line at http://www.marklazarowicz.org.uk/communitynews/documents/March06newsletter.doc

5. As you may know, I am currently promoting a "Private Members' Bill" in the UK Parliament on "Climate Change & Sustainable Energy". This is now making good progress through the House of Commons, and if you would like to be kept informed, you can find updated information on my website at http://www.marklazarowicz.org.uk/bill/bill02.06.htm. In addition, Edinburgh Central MSP Sarah Boyack has contacted me with details of the consultation which has now begun on the Member's Bill which she is planning to introduce into the Scottish Parliament. Sarah would be grateful for your contribution to the consultation process. The deadline for submissions is Friday 17th March. You can get copies of her consultation document at http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/business/bills/pdfs/mb-consultations/m icrogeneration.pdf or by calling her Scottish Parliament office on 0131 348 5751.

6. Lothian & Borders police have sent me a copy of their latest Community and Neighbourhood local newsletters, for the Leith, and the Stockbridge, Dean & Craigleith areas. Links to these reports can be found at http://www.marklazarowicz.org.uk/communitynews/police/leith1.06.htm and http://www.marklazarowicz.org.uk/communitynews/police/police1.06.htm respectively.

The police have also sent me reports of their "Problem Solving Partnerships" which they set up for 'Fort House and Immediate Surrounding Area' and for "North Edinburgh Walkways, Trinity and Granton'. This shows the steps taken in 2005 to deal with issues raised by residents in these areas, local crime statistics for these areas, and plans for future activity. If you would like me to send you copies of these, please do let me know.

Obviously I can only cover a very few items in this email, so please do get in touch if you have any queries or comments about any other issues.
