The Future of the NHS
Posted by John Pugh, MP for Southport, at 15:59, Fri 4 July 2008:
This week its been the 60th anniversary of the NHS. Ministers have spoken of the future promising that hospitals and doctors will be paid according to outcome, that patients will have more choice and that people with chronic conditions will be given money to manage their conditions as they want.Nurses and doctors will be encouraged to set up their own not for profit companies. This makes the NHS sound like a firm expanding its range and products. Some people though claim we are witnessing the privatisation and break up of the NHS. What people think of this ?

Ever since the Tory government, with Thatcher at the helm, we have seen a move towards privatisation of our country's institutions. The Labour party despite their socialist background are continuing the trend of stripping our country of its assets. All the while feeding the fat cats of the world. The NHS and Education are in their final throws of life as a national asset. We must do whatever we can to stop this robbery.
