Post Office vote 19 March 2008
Posted by David Drew, MP for Stroud, at 12:27, Thursday 20 March:
I voted for a review of the current Post Office plans in the Commons yesterday because of the survey evidence I have collected, the meetings I have attended and the discussions I have had with local Post masters and mistresses.
There is clearly a wealth of support for our local Post Offices. Rather than it helping the Post Office, I feel that this programme of closures will further threaten the remaining network. I have already been contacted by other owners seeking to leave the business unless their income is secured or their prospects improved.
