Graham Stuart, MP for Beverley & Holderness, has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on coastal and marine issues. The group, which was recently set up by Norman Lamb, MP for Norfolk North, will meet regularly to discuss a broad range of issues, such as coastal erosion, flood risk and the protection of properties from the sea. The appointment was made at the inaugural meeting on Thursday 9 February, 2006.
Graham said, “I am delighted to have been appointed Vice-Chairman of this group. I have learnt a lot about coastal issues through the situation facing Kilnsea residents and I look forward to playing my part in pushing them up the national agenda. As someone who represents a coastal area this is something that I want to get more involved with, and I will do all that I can to push for a fairer deal for residents on this issue.”
