Glad tidings of comfort and joy

Posted by Lynne Featherstone, MP for Hornsey and Wood Green, at 10:50, Wed 19 December 2007:

Happy Christmas! It's been another very long year - a good one for me, and I hope for you. It's certainly been eventful! We've had floods in Muswell Hill and Hornsey, a gale tore down the roof of Jackson's lane theatre - we've fought for our Post Offices, our local buses, and against the threats to our beloved Ally Pally. But from the battle to get Hornsey Hospital re-opened, to holding the Government to account over the disgraceful way it has treated Iraqi interpreters, it has been an honour to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in fighting to protect and improve our local area and the wider world as well. And we have a new Leader, Nick Clegg who is determined to forge a new golden age for liberalism in this country.

I thought you'd appreciate knowing how the festive season is going to impact your rubbish and recycling collections. After all - all those mince pie cases have to go somewhere!

There will be no collection on the 24th and 25th of December or the 1st of January. That means if you have a weekly collection an a Tuesday you will receive no collection between yesterday (18th Dec) and the 8th of January. If you have a weekly collection on a Monday you will receive no collection between this monday (17th Dec) and the 31st of December. If you have a flat above a shop and you get daily collections you will just miss out on the three days (24th, 25th and 1st) all other collections should go ahead as normal.

I hope this helps, here's wishing you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

kind regards

Lynne
