Flooding
Posted by David Davis, MP for Haltemprice and Howden, at 12:02, Wed 1 August 2007:
My apologies for the delay in reporting in via this website. As many of you may have seen from the local media, I have been out and about in many of the areas which were flooded in Haltemprice and Howden.
I was truly shocked by the scale of the damage to many of the homes and buildings I visited. Croxby Primary School in Cottingham was a particular shock and I will be fighting to ensure that the school is returned to normal use asap.
I have also raised the matter of flooding in Parliament and I am seeking answers from Yorkshire Water about many of the main drain problems raised with me. I am also supporting proposals in Gilderdyke to improve the dyke system there and I hope that the local drainage boards will work closely with the Environment Agency to improve drainage locally.

Thanks for checking in with us here :) Nice to hear you've been out looking at the flooding and that you're on the case :) Good luck raising the Northern profile down in Westminster :)
