Super Safari Was A Super Day!

Posted by Nadine Dorries, MP for Mid Bedfordshire, at 09:37, Thu 19 July 2007:

I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the extremely successful Super Safari.

The free open day at Britain's largest drive-through Safari Park, for local children with disabilities or acute special educational needs took place on Thursday 12th July 2007. The open day at Woburn Safari Park, took place after I previously suggested the idea to the Duke of Bedford.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a very special thank you to the Duke of Bedford and all the staff at the Safari Park who made the day such a wonderful and enjoyable experience. The day included a visit to the award winning attraction, the Land of the Lemurs, the new Mammoth Play Ark, a Sea Lion display and a visit to the penguin enclosure.

It was a truly magical day out for children who otherwise wouldn’t get to see the park. The staff at Woburn Safari Park were amazing and went all out to make sure the day was memorable for all the children and their carers. The day was for children who are disabled, have acute special educational needs, are vulnerable or seriously ill, as well as their parents or carers.

Once again, I can’t thank the Park, the Duke, or the staff, especially the Chief Executive, Chris Webster, enough for their generosity and support in making Super Safari such a success. To find out more visit my blog.
