Nadine Secures Use Of Woburn Safari Park For Vulnerable Children
Posted by Nadine Dorries, MP for Mid Bedfordshire, at 13:59, Thu 31 May 2007:
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the generosity of the Duke of Bedford, who has agreed to provide a free open evening at Woburn Safari Park for local children who may be disabled or with special educational needs.
I initially suggested the idea to the Duke, during a recent visit to the Park, as part of a Tourism Tour of Mid Bedfordshire. (See my previous message on Tourism in Bedfordshire). The event is due to take place at the end of July 2007 and there will be no charge for children and adults who attend. Parents of those who would be interested in attending are advised to visit my website or contact my Offices directly.
Some of our most vulnerable children - and their parents - deserve an opportunity to enjoy themselves - I know this is going to be a great event and an important opportunity for parents to meet up and establish new networks of support.
I am also bringing this opportunity to the attention of local Councils, charities and other organisations in Bedfordshire that work with young people, so they may be aware of this event also. If parents would be interested in attending they can either visit my website or write to me.
