Jubilee Birth Centre and Council Tax
Posted by David Davis, MP for Haltemprice and Howden, at 15:32, Sat 17 February 2007:
Jubilee Birth Centre - Cottingham This centre has been closed 13 times in the past year which is a serious concern to local mums-to-be. The trust need to get a grip on the staffing problems at the unit and I am determined that these closures must not be used to raise again the prospect of closing the centre permanently.
Council Tax - This years Council Tax rise in the East Riding is 3.8%, well below last years 4.9% and the even higher 4.95% which was proposed by the Lib Dems at that time. The important thing to remember is that the East Riding is one of the worst funded Councils in the country and as such local Councillors, of all parties, have to make tough decisions about whether to raise council tax or cut services.
Please do get in touch if I can be of assistance to you in any way.
Regards,
David
