Policing Issues

Posted by David Davis, MP for Haltemprice and Howden, at 10:50, Wed 10 January 2007:

Many constituents continue to tell me how concerned they are about crime and disorder matters in the area. In Howden many residents have reported problems with licensed premises and generally across the area people are very concerned about youths on street corners and anti-social behaviour. Willerby, Kirk Ella and Cottingham seem to be having particular problems with youths at the present time and I will continue to push for action.

I am angry therefore that the Government has announced that it is reducing the number of Police Community Support Officers awarded to the Humberside Police force from over three hundred to just 220. We are all paying more in tax and receiving less back in local services.

My local team and I will continue to push for tougher action on those who blight our communities. Please do contact my team and me if you have any issues you need assistance with.

Regards,

David
