NHS PETITION

Posted by David Davis, MP for Haltemprice and Howden, at 16:13, Mon 13 November 2006:

Many apologies for the delay in updating you on my local activities. I wanted to update you on the NHS petition which I recently launched across the local area.

We have only just started to gather signatures and have been very pleasantly surprised by the strong support we have received. I am continuing to oppose the rationing of local health services which even includes proposals to close hospital wards in our area. The petition should be coming through your door by way of one of my local newsletters. I will be at Castle Hill this Friday to hand over the money I raised from my world record breaking abseil from the top of the Humber Bridge North Tower which I completed in July. I have raised close to £1500 for the Cancer Care Centre at the Hospital which I am sure will be put to good use by the dedicated staff at the hospital.
