Autumn Statement
Posted by Justin Tomlinson, MP for North Swindon, at 14:03, Thu 4 December 2014:
Yesterday, the Chancellor delivered his final Autumn Statement. A summary of the points raised include:
• An extra £2 billion in funding for frontline NHS services each year
• An extra £1.2 billion funding in local GP services
• A cut in Stamp Duty to 98% of homes in the UK - saving £4,500 on an average family home
• Abolishing the planned rise in fuel duty so that prices at the pumps continue to fall
• Abolishing the 55% death tax so that pensioners can pass on their pensions cash free
• A further increase in the personal tax allowance - now an equivalent to a tax cut of £825
• Scrapping Air Passenger Duty for children - a welcome boost for local families
• VAT rebates for Hospices (Prospect) & Air Ambulances (Wiltshire)
• Extension of the Small Business Rate Relief & a commitment to review the Rates system
• A 25% ‘Starbucks Tax’ on the profits of large multinational corporations who divert profits offshore
As your elected representative, I would be interested to know which parts of the Autumn Statement you support, and which announcements you don’t. Were there any areas missed, or things you would have liked to have seen greater action on? Kind regards, Justin

Yes, the vat cut for the Hospices and Air Ambulance, no one can complain about that. the rest of it! oh my!
now, the deficit,, out of the EU, billions saved, and don`t say we will lose trade, they need us more than we need them, and we can look elsewhere for the trading.
Reduce the MP`s and so called Lords, another few million saved..
see? we are over governed, get rid of the Police Commissioners, whose bright idea was that in the first place! reduce the quangos..
deficit sorted, now let us live our lives the way we want to, not the way some far away person in London wants us to.
