Nadine Joins The World Of The Blogger!
Posted by Nadine Dorries, MP for Mid Bedfordshire, at 14:59, Tue 24 October 2006:
This week I have become one of the first MPs to start blogging on a regular basis. Following the success of my blog at the Conservative Party conference in Bournemouth, I have decided to continue blogging with a daily entry.
Blogging is in many respects an on-line diary which gives my constituents the opportunity to get a better understanding as to my thoughts and ideas in my work as their MP. I received a fantastic response to my conference Blog and have decided to continue blogging throughout the year.
It is vitally important that politicians and elected representatives try news ways of engaging with the public and I hope that my blog will be one to achieve this. If you would like to visit my blog please go to my website at www.dorries.org.uk for more details.
If you have any comments on that you would like to bring to my attention, then please get in contact with me in the usual way.

Dear Nadine,
When are politicians going to do something to limit the disproportinate hounding of motorists with speed cameras. Everyone knows that this has far more to do with money raising than safety and is causing a deep resentment between the public and the police. We need some perspective on motoring incidents. For many years the number of deaths caused by driving has remained steady at just over 3,000 a year and this figure has not been helped by the introduction of speed cameras. Whilst 1 death is too many I would suggest that 3000 is pretty much par for the course given the number of drivers on the road today. By comparison 12,000 women a year dies from Breast cancer and a similar number of men die from testicular cancer.
Yours ever.
Dr.Mike Woollard
