Energy companies continue to squeeze consumers while making huge profits
Posted by Roger Godsiff, MP for Birmingham, Hall Green, at 10:24, Tue 5 August 2014:
Despite energy companies coming under pressure to cut household gas and electricity bills following a sharp drop in wholesale costs, there is no indication that consumers are going to get cheaper bills. Gas prices have reached their lowest level since September 2010 and were 38% below this time below last year, while electricity prices reached their lowest level since April 2010 and are currently 23% lower than June 2013.
Said Roger, “What a surprise that the big 6 are not going to lower energy bills and are, instead, charging customers an average of £100 more than last year. This merely shows, once again, that privatisation, or liberalisation as the companies like to call it, of the gas and electricity industry has brought no benefits whatsoever to customers but has enriched current and former owners and shareholders at the expense of consumers.”

Let us consider a pressing issue which is the war fought in Israel/Palestine.
UK has to take the criminal responsibility with their counter parts the US for arming Israel with weapons of mass destruction which they are now using against their neighbour Palestine. I have not seen the holocaust that the Jews had experienced in the past, but I have witnessed how Jew leaders in Israel are perpetrating holocaust against Palestine for political gain. Palestine needs tunnel to get food supply as all the boarders are closed. They are fighting defensive war against Israel, not forgetting that they (Israel) have capability of producing nuclear weapons. The US has vetoed all the resolutions passed by the UN against Israel.
I am not saying that all Jews are bad but the civilian Israeli Jews should rise up and stop their leaders killing innocent Palestine civilians and children.
What Israel has done is to occupy an Arab land which does not belong to them in the first place and have also usurp the neighbours land and built on it. How can there be any peace and how the killers can sleep peaceful at night defies any logic.
So Roger what are you and the UK government going to do?

Let us discuss how the gas and electricity is costed by the providers. I was looking at my energy bill and it states as follows:
- Buying the energy our customer use 52%
- Delivery the energy to your home 24%
- Government environment and social scheme 8%.
- Billing, customer service and IT systems 6%.
- VAT 5%
- Suppliers business profit 5%.
If this was not a PR (Public Relation) exercise then this means government is taking the same amount as profit by charging VAT (not forgetting additional corporation tax) and more is spent which I am assuming in providers having to abide by the government's environment and social scheme. So who is to be blamed?
One way around this is to change provider, as I have done, to save on energy bills. It is an easy and a straight forward process.
