Government have started consulting on fracking under people's houses without their permission
Posted by Roger Godsiff, MP for Birmingham, Hall Green, at 15:59, Fri 23 May 2014:
The Government have opened a consultation on whether to allow energy companies to start fracking under people's properties without their consent. There is widespread public opposition to fracking, and no appetite at all to force people to have fracking companies on their land without their consent.
Roger said: "I am curious about why the Government decided to open the consultation on fracking on a day when the entire media and all of Westminster is busy with the local election results. It's almost as though the Government don't want to draw attention to these proposals because they know people will be opposed to them..."

It's called 'burying bad news', Roger, as you well know, because your own party became so expert at this type of activity, with its army of 'spin doctors'. The recent election results show that many of the electorate are not quite the gullible sheep that politicians believe them to be. MP's need to start listening to & responding to people's legitimate concerns. As for fracking, we should not look this gift-horse in the mouth. Our national finances are bankrupt, caused in large part by the last ruinous, 13-year, Labour administration's reckless borrowing & spending; we need all the help we can get.

People want cheap energy and it was a past mistake when the government had privatised energy and this meant high cost of energy. Fracking goes hand in had with cheap and regular supply of energy. Those who are affected by fracking have been handsomely compensated and so no one should complain. There would be some environment damage but that is due to an increase in the demand for energy.
