Thank you for signing up to HearFromYourMP.
Its good for me to know that so many constituents in East Lothian are keen to hear about my work and latest news. I already use a range of different means to keep in touch with constituents and provide updates on my work in the constituency and Parliament.
These include my website at www.fionaodonnellmp.org, twitter @FionaODonnellMP, facebook www.facebook.com/fionaodonnelleastlothian, a regular e-newsletter and reports to the local press.
However, with so many people interested in using this site, I am eager to hear your views on how I communicate currently and the kind of issues you would most like to hear about from me.
Please send me your thoughts and I will use the feedback to help inform my use of this site, as well as my other communications.
Thanks again for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes for Christmas and New Year.
Fiona O'Donnell MP

Hi Fiona
I believe that it makes sense to go where people are. Right now that still includes being available to constituents through traditional methods such as surgeries and snail mail.
However, as we become more and more adept at using technology to communicate from home or on the move, it makes sense for you to have a presence on all the social media platforms, which in turn should guide people to your own web site where you can definitive answers to questions coming from any other part of the internet.
So I'd argue... ask people's views on every off and online platform you can utilise but only give one definitive answer (wherever that question originated), which lives on your own website.
All the best

Hi Fiona,I think it is one more way to keep your constituants in the loop straight from the horses mouth (so to speak ) and not through the media as they often re write what is said and not always accurate Keep up the good work Hugh Smith Ormiston
