Thank you for signing up via hearfromyourmp.com to receive updates from me. Some of you will have received emails from me previously, but for many of you it will be the first time.
The Hear From Your MP concept is excellent – it gives MPs the chance to really engage with the people they represent. My aim is to use the service to get in touch with you from time to time about certain issues, both local and national, and would love to hear your thoughts on any of the topics raised.
I want to take this opportunity to mention an issue currently affecting The Queensbury Pub, which you might well know. It’s situated opposite Willesden Green tube station in what used to be the Conservative Club. As well as being a much loved place to catch up with friends, the Queensbury also hosts Busy Rascals, a popular Children’s’ group, and the National Childbirth Trust’s ‘Bumps and Babies’ group.
The pub is very much a community hub, located right in the heart of my constituency. However, I was deeply saddened to learn that a planning application has been submitted to demolish the historic building that houses the pub and replace it with a ten storey tower block. This proposed building would be nearly double the height of the tallest local building and completely out of place for the area.
As a Willesden resident myself, I believe that if Brent Council allow this proposal to go ahead it will be bad for the area and I’d like to hear your views on the plans.
I have submitted a formal object to the plans and you might also want to let Brent Council know what you think. You can do this by going to https://forms.brent.gov.uk/servlet/ep.ext?extId=101150&reference=109133&st=PL.
I have also launched a petition against the plans on my website. You can sign this online at http://brentlibdems.org.uk/en/petition/stop-the-tower-block-in-willesden-green. The petition can be printed off so that people can get their friends and neighbours to sign it up and any signed petitions should be returned to my office at 70 Walm Lane, Willesden Green, London, NW2 4RA.
If you have any thoughts on this subject, please do let me know. And please remember that if you want to raise any other issue with me, you can always write to me at the address above or email me at teathers@parliament.uk.
Best wishes,
Sarah

RE: Proposals of Brent Council.
I understand that you are talking about demolishing a place of work to build yet more flats.
We are over populated as it is. You can see the situation with the schools as some are being forced to home school after years of insisting that they stick to the curriculum. Well, I don't see why they should if it comes to that. also shouldn't their taxes be cut if that happens. As it should if we don't see a proper police force but community support officers. If the pay isn't up to it, then their heart just isn't in it. It's a no brainer. You need to feed them and give them a sense of self respect.
But getting back to the flats issue. You just can't keep giving us more and more people in one area. It's we are getting anarchy. You must haven't studied socialiology. Well, I haven't but I know the world. It there in black and white in the science museum 'an over populated environment rectifies itself by bringing disease and epidemic. That is why we had that jab enforced on us in the early 90's, the one that gave so many kids autism. But it's also why there are people just killing at random. You can't say that it natures way of sorting out an over populated environment but they are just breaking into anarchy. It's frightening and we don't feel safe. You might see signs of it if you queue for near on forty mins in a bank. Or weight for a bus and they all arrive full up, you have to miss them and weight for the next. By the time you do get on, everone is tired and fed up and ready to just... well who knows. But I don't feel safe there, there is something in the air.

I see no special reason for the queensbury bar to remain We have a very smart pub on Cricklewood Bwdy that is underused why keep this bar.
I like the green space outside and the developers should try to enhance this green image
There are other buildings and empty churches or halls that could easily replace the Queensbury as a meeting point and bar.
Sarah this is a ideal place for more flats it is close to good transport links and a nice area. The issue of excessive demand that more flats would create for school places and doctors is true but this is a London problem due to high immigration numbers (esp from Europe) and the truth that there are more jobs and better pay in London for people needing work
