Do you want to Meet Your MP this summer?
Posted by Simon Reevell, MP for Dewsbury, at 11:34, Tue 31 July 2012:
Over the summer, Simon Reevell, the Member of Parliament for Dewsbury, will continue the tradition of holding question and answer sessions in various locations across the constituency.
Starting on Wednesday 8 August 2012, Simon has organised four Meet Your MP events during which he will take questions in a format similar to Question Time. Anyone who has a question is very welcome to attend.
The first Meet Your MP event will take place on Wednesday 8 August 2012 from 19.00 at Croft House in Upper Hopton. Simon is also holding a session on Wednesday 15 August 2012 from 19.00 at St James the Great Church in Flockton. The third Meet Your MP session will take place on Wednesday 29 August 2012 again from 19.00 at Stocksmoor Village Hall. The final session will take place on Wednesday 12 September 2012 from 19.00 at Shepley Methodist Church.
Simon said, “I hope as many people as possible will come and raise any questions they have about both local and national issues.”

Because I have 25 Saturday street stalls a year in Dewsbury plus 12 surgeries and 6 mobile office sessions plus my office - open 5 days a week - is in Dewsbury. Come down to this Saturday's street stall for a chat!

That's really good to hear, and rather a surprise. Nobody from the Conservative Party ever seems to canvas or door knock this area, let alone inform of availability of the MP. This is contrary to the other major parties. We do not shop in Dewsbury any longer after many years of doing so, therefore we do not go into the town centre. We are aware that the town centre is a Kirklees Council issue, but empty shops and pay for parking does not encourage people into the centre. Had I known about the street stalls, and where the surgeries are I may have come to say hello!

Sorry if you've been out while we've been canvassing and that you haven't seen the street stall but please do get in touch with the office (01924 465 008) if you ever want a surgery appointment or I hope to see you at a street stall soon!
