Simon Reevell MP supports Vocational Qualifications Day

Posted by Simon Reevell, MP for Dewsbury, at 15:29, Thu 22 March 2012:

Simon Reevell, the Member of Parliament for Dewsbury, has lent his support to the fifth annual Vocational Qualifications Day. He hopes to get local collages, schools and businesses involved in celebrating the millions of people who gain vocational qualifications across the country every year.

Vocational Qualifications Day 2012 will be held on Wednesday 20 June and will be marked by events held across the UK, including award ceremonies and open days.

As preparations for the day began, Simon said, “With a tough economic climate, it is important that young people have access to high quality vocational courses which offer genuine job prospects. Vocational qualifications are valuable to the students but also to the economy as they provide work-ready individuals with the experience and skills necessary to enter the workforce.”

“As a nation, we don’t value vocational qualifications enough. That is why I encourage colleges, schools and business throughout Dewsbury to join the celebrations on 20 June 2012.”
