Simon Reevell MP opens Hopton Care Cottages, a new and innovative care home in Mirfield

The local MP Simon Reevell has opened the brand new Hopton Care Cottages in Mirfield.
On Friday 17 February, Simon cut the ribbon to formally open the Care Cottages which were recently completed following a £4 million project. With the backing of RBS, the home has been designed and built in a new and innovative way. The home is built as semi-individual cottages with a separate patio for each cottage.
The cottage design ensures that clients retain independence and have a place to call their own whilst still having access to 24 hour personal care. The home will provide residential care for 60 elderly people in Mirfield and it will employ over 60 local people.
Simon said, “I was really pleased to open the Care Cottages and I want to congratulate everyone involved.”
“The project demonstrates that banks and small companies can work together and I particularly welcome the jobs that have been created. Most importantly, the Care Cottages allow people to retire in dignity. It is a great facility which I hope will be a very happy place. I wish them every success.”
