There doesn’t seem to be much about the economy or British foreign policy in this newsletter. Surely the economy underpins everything and this in turn is affected by the amount of government funds squandered on wrecking infrastructure and killing people in Middle Eastern countries - £5 billion spent in Afghanistan, £260,000,000 so far on Libya and threats (recently retracted but soon to resurface?) of supporting Obama’s sabre rattling at Syria. I am not clear what motivates David Cameron to make these threats. Does he think attacking Middle Eastern countries makes him look like a strong leader, or does it all come down to a concern about losing influence in oil rich regions? Mainstream media does a good job of presenting British warmongering as ‘humanitarian aid’, but scratching beneath the surface & using a wider range of sources to inform oneself, such as www.globalresearch.ca, demonstrates that there is a very different agenda behind current government policy. Our MPs should make more of an effort to inform themselves and make a stand where necessary instead of simply acting as government mouthpieces. Apart from any ethical dimension to British attacks on foreign countries, I believe better use could be made of government funds by getting our own house in order and creating a better life for all British citizens instead of current government policies that increase the gap between rich and poor.
