Poppy Party Weekend success

Our Market Gates coffee morning welcomed hundreds to The Great Poppy Party Weekend, in support of the Royal British Legion 90th Anniversary, it highlighted the vital work the Legion carries out and celebrates their longstanding connection with the people of the UK.
As the first MP in the country to sign up in support of this campaign, I hosted a coffee morning in the Market Square where over 250 local residents joined me. I had fantastic support from local youth groups who helped serve the refreshments. Local businesses helped make the event a success, by supplying a marquee, tables and chairs, as well as the all-important tea and cakes.
In the evening, I joined partygoers at Yarmouth Racecourse as a guest at the Poppy Ball. This was a great event organised by accountancy firm PKF East Anglia. Thanks go to Michael Muskett and his team for making the evening such an enormous success. There’s an excellent report about the celebrations across Norfolk on the Great Yarmouth Mercury website today.
The Royal British Legion has a long history of honouring and supporting our Armed Forces and it is important to remember the vital role they play in the lives of service men and women up and down the country. I used my monthly column in the Great Yarmouth Mercury to highlight the importance of looking after our armed forces.

ANswered this already but to be complete: it was in local press and helpers were arranged by the local legion who it was in aid of. Sorry you heard too late to help out.
