Hi Stephen, Have you any comment to make on my public mesage regarding cross Border Health Care only I notice that this has been taken further by a recent article in the Welsh Edition of Daily Post. Whilst the powers that be are having a stand off over money patients will become deceased. Which in your opinion is the most important 1. Saving the lives of people? or 2. Money being the priority? I am aware that you have already prioritised the importance of cash by your question in the House over money apparently owed to Cheshire Health Authority by the National Health Service - Welsh Division. I belive that you have a duty of care to your constituents who live in England and are registered with a Doctor in Wales and to those persons who live in Wales and are registered with a Doctor in England. Time to come off the fence old boy and consider putting peoples lives before monetary considerations!

Tony,
Since Health is a devolved matter in Wales I, as a member of the UK Parliament in Westminster, do not have the ability to affect how the NHS in Wales operates - that is a responsibility of the Welsh Assembly and the Members of the Welsh Assembly.
You highlight one of the issues with the devolution settlement in border areas where residents from both sides of the border use services on either side of the border, and is one that I do not believe was adequately considered when the Assembly was established in the late 1990s.
If you would care to email me at stephen@chestermp.com, with your full address details, I will happily arrange a surgery appointment for us to discuss this situation in more detail.
Regards,
Stephen
