Labour's Control Centre Move to Hampshire Overturned by Coalition Government
Posted by Laura Sandys, MP for South Thanet, at 10:17, Tue 21 December 2010:
Having campaigned for many years against the Labour government’s amalgamation of our Kent Fire and Rescue control at a south east site in Hampshire, I am very pleased that this hugely expensive centralising scheme has been terminated by the coalition government. I have pressed the case on many occasions that the Hampshire site would have meant that we would have lost the expertise that our Kent based control bring to our fire and rescue. In addition Hampshire could not be further away from Thanet and Sandwich making it almost impossible for any local knowledge to be retained in this extravagant and unnecessary plan.
As part of the last Government’s regionalisation policies, Fire and Rescue control centre was to be moved to Hampshire combining all the control centres in the South East.

It seemed strange that the Tories made an alliance with the Liberals in the first place, knowing what a bunch of back stabbing louts they are, you only have to ask Dr David Owen about that. I would have thought that an alliance with the Labour party would havew been more practical. After all both parties, Conservative and Labour can't wait to sell off our national assests , the Labour party to waste the money, and the Tories, to fill their bankers coffers, and does anybody really believe that any politician has the general well being of the British people at heart. Of course they don't want your house to burn down, they would have nothing but ashes to reposess

Dear Laura Sandys,
Thank you for letting me know about the decision to not go ahead with the Hampshire based Fire and Rescue Control Centre, most sensible, I agree.
Please ignore the opposition and press, regards the route your two parties are taking, I feel that I speak for most ordinary people when I say ' getting our house in order and the countries finances on a level is the highest priority and we are right behind you and your government on this.' it's the rich what gets the money, it's the poor what gets the blame, it's been going on forever, I think it's time we had a change.
The rich control 90% of this countries wealth, and when there is a blow out in the economy, the poor pay for it, the ordinary honest working man in this country hasn't anybody to represent him, and don't expect labour to help you, they are tory lickspittles, vote SOCIALIST
