I've just had a "Thank you for getting in touch with me through the HearFromYourMP website" from my MP. I cannot for the life of me remember just what it was I got in touch with Andy Love for, it's so long ago (and no, I don't have dementia), possibly months.
Something approaching a reply or comment may have jogged my memory but a "thank you" so late in the day is just a double insult.
As we seem to have moved on from MPs' expenses, perhaps the electorate should start demanding targets for MPs, such as how long a simple thank you should take to post, or indeed a proper reply, in much the same way they've imposed targets on every other walk of public life?
Or am I being cynical?

paula, I never sent a message, I just joined the group thinking I would get regular updates about my MP. Funnily enough I haven't! Seems I need to read a blog. Oh well never mind. I already know just what the MP's get up to, I don't need to read a blog. Now who's being cynical???!!!

I joined the site to lobby my MP on a particular topic and have taken part in other campaigns since. Not that it's done any good, but you have to try.
