Thanks to all of you who've signed up to this. As I don't know what subjects will interst you, I think the best thing would be if anyone wants to contact me on a specific subject to email me direct at randallj@parliament.uk or write to me at the House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA
Hope that seems like the best idea.
John Randall MP

Thanks, John. I think that's the best idea for people who want to raise with you issues that may not have a wider interest or that they do not wish to be made public in a forum like this.
I don't know about anyone else, however, but I think the whole point of this service, John, is that you report to us on what you have been doing and use this forum as an opportunity to gauge views, concerns, suggestions from some of your constituents who otherwise you wouldn't engage with.
Look at some of the other MPs on this website as an example. here's one: "Message from David Howarth MP" http://www.hearfromyourmp.com/view/message/53

Although part of me sympathises with John on the vagueness of the whole exercise, I can't help thinking that this is a missed opportunity to give account to a group of interested constituents regarding his representation of us in Parliament. I am sure that we are all interested in whatever he has to say to us. In fact, I was always under the impression that a good politician helps to inform public interest rather than reacting to it.
