Dear fellow local resident,
Thank you for signing up to the mysociety mailing list. I think mysociety is a great way to keep people involved in the political process.
Since being elected in May I have been busy! In Parliament I have spoken on the issues of the unfair Council Tax, pensions, fair votes and the impact of the 2012 Olympics on Scotland. In East Dunbartonshire I have been out and about at community events, holding regular surgeries and in September I used www.pledgebank.com to help organise a public meeting on the issue of phonemasts, which regularly crops up in my postbag.
Last Thursday, I was delighted to make my debut on BBC1's "Question Time" programme. This week, Parliament has returned from its summer recess. Big issues of contention between now and Christmas are likely to include the Government's plans for ID cards and anti-terror legislation.
If I can be of help or assistance on any issue, local or national, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me: 4 Springfield House, Emerson Road, Bishopbriggs, G64 1QE. The telephone number is 0141 762 2209, and of course you can always email me at swinsonj@parliament.uk.
Best Wishes,
Jo Swinson
P.S. My website www.joswinson.org.uk is regularly updated with news and views and will keep you up to date with my work for East Dunbartonshire in Parliament.
